Tina Fry, Owner and Controller
I’m Tina Fry, founder of G&L Controller Services, a fractional controller firm built to give small businesses the financial clarity they deserve. The name G&L has a special meaning for me. It’s inspired by G&L Coal Services, the business my dad ran when I was growing up. Whenever people asked him what “G&L” stood for, he’d give his classic corny dad joke and say it was just his initials with an & to “make it look fancy.”
Now I get to carry on that same little tradition, but with my own twist. I use the initials from “General Ledger,” with the “&” to make it look fancy (my corny mom joke), and as a nod to my dad and the values he taught me: work hard, be honest, treat people right, and take pride in what you build.
So G&L represents both where I come from and the kind of financial leadership I bring to the businesses I work with: honest, dependable, hardworking, and centered around giving owners clear, reliable numbers they can trust.
After 20+ years in accounting and business office management, I’ve seen firsthand how often small businesses operate without the financial insight they need – not because they don’t care, but because they don’t have access to the right level of support. I started G&L to change that.
